How to use TikTok Converter

  1. 1. Upload your video. Drag in any video file (MP4, MOV, WebM, MKV, AVI, M4V) up to 500 MB.
  2. 2. Pick a platform. Choose TikTok/Reels/Shorts (9:16), Instagram Post (1:1), Facebook Feed (4:5), or YouTube/Twitter (16:9). We resize to the exact spec each platform expects.
  3. 3. Choose a fill mode. Crop to fill center-crops your video to fill the frame — best when the subject is already centered. Blurred background fits the video inside and fills the empty bars with a soft blurred copy (the classic TikTok repost aesthetic). Black bars is a clean letterbox/pillarbox.
  4. 4. Convert & download. Hit Convert — we re-encode on the server with H.264 at high quality (CRF 23) and deliver a ready-to-upload MP4.

FAQ

What resolution does TikTok want?

TikTok recommends 1080×1920 (9:16) at up to 60fps. Our TikTok/Reels/Shorts preset outputs exactly that.

What's the difference between Crop, Blur, and Black?

Crop cuts the edges to fill the frame — nothing is added, but some of the image is lost. Blur shrinks the video to fit, then fills the empty bars with a blurred, zoomed-in copy of the video itself — this is the classic look you see when someone reposts a horizontal clip to TikTok. Black bars just add solid black padding.

Will I lose quality?

We encode with H.264 CRF 23, which is visually transparent for most content. The output is a high-quality MP4 ready for upload. Re-encoding always loses a tiny bit vs. the mathematical original, but it's imperceptible.

Can I convert a horizontal video to vertical?

Absolutely — that's the main use case. Upload your 16:9 landscape video, pick TikTok (9:16), choose Blur fill mode, and you get the classic vertical format with a beautiful blurred background.

What are TikTok's upload requirements?

TikTok accepts MP4 and MOV, up to 10 minutes (60 min for some accounts), max 4 GB. Recommended: 1080×1920, H.264, 30-60fps, under 287.6 MB for best upload speed. Our output hits all of these.

Does this work for Instagram Reels too?

Yes! Instagram Reels use the same 9:16 (1080×1920) format as TikTok. The TikTok/Reels/Shorts preset works for all three platforms.

Can I adjust the crop position?

Currently the crop is always center-based. If your subject is off-center, the Blur fill mode is usually a better choice since it shows the entire video.

Where is my file processed?

On our EU server. Files are auto-deleted within 1 hour. We don't share, analyse, or store them.
