FAQ

How much smaller will my video be?

Usually 30–80%. Source bitrate matters most: a phone video at 50 Mbps will shrink dramatically; a TikTok download is already compressed and won't shrink as much.

Will the quality be the same?

We use H.264 with CRF (constant quality) targeting. Balanced (CRF 26) looks visually identical for most content. Smallest (CRF 30) introduces slight blocking on busy scenes.

Why MP4?

It's the most compatible format — plays on every browser, phone, smart TV, and editor. We also enable +faststart so it streams immediately without buffering metadata.

Can I keep the original resolution?

Pick 1080p as the max and we won't downscale unless your source is bigger.

Where is my file processed?

On our EU server. Files are auto-deleted within 1 hour. We don't share, analyse, or store them.

How long does it take?

Roughly the length of the source for short clips on Balanced. Big 4K source files take longer because we have to read every frame.
